Southwest's African American Film Series: Selma

PastSaturday, February 15, 2020 - 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM

The Southwest Regional Library invites its community to celebrate African-American representation and influence in the art of film. Selma (2014) is based on the voting rights march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965. Despite some controversy over historical inaccuracies, the film was re-released in theaters on March 20, 2015 to honor the 50th anniversary of the original march led by Martin Luther King, Jr., future congressman John Lewis, and others. This film is rated PG-13.
