The Library Foundation

The Louisville Free Public Library Foundation, Inc. was established by community leaders in 1980 as a non-profit corporation for the purpose of “benefiting, promoting, supporting, encouraging, and enhancing the programs and services of the Louisville Free Public Library.”  On behalf of the Library, the Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization, solicits and accepts tax-deductible contributions from private sources including individuals, foundations, and corporations.

In addition to the annual appeal, over the years the Foundation has successfully undertaken major fundraising campaigns such as the New Book Endowment Campaign and the Library 2000 information technology campaign.  The Foundation regularly funds library initiatives such as the Summer Reading Program, the GED Program, and the 400 public access computers in branches across the community, to name just a few examples.

Your support of The Library Foundation ensures that LFPL remains a vital center for education, ideas, information, workforce development, and personal enrichment.
