- National Endowment for the Arts - "The National Endowment for the Arts is a public agency dedicated to supporting excellence in the arts, both new and established; bringing the arts to all Americans; and providing leadership in arts education. Established by Congress in 1965 as an independent agency of the federal government, the Endowment is the nation's largest annual funder of the arts, bringing great art to all 50 states, including rural areas, inner cities, and military bases."
- Americans for the Arts - "Americans for the Arts is the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America. With 45 years of service, we are dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts."
- The Arts Education Partnership - "The Arts Education Partnership (AEP) is a national coalition of arts, education, business, philanthropic and government organizations that demonstrate and promote the essential role of the arts in the learning and development of every child and in the improvement of America's schools."
- National Association of Artists' Organizations - "The National Association of Artists' Organizations [NAAO] is a nonprofit dedicated to serving and strengthening artist-driven groups and organizations. NAAO addresses the field's ongoing struggle with issues relating to artists' rights, organizational stability, working conditions, and professional isolation across all disciplines and communities."
- Arts Marketing.org - "ArtsMarketing.org is a project of Arts & Business Council of Americans for the Arts. - Americans for the Arts - is the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in American. - National Association of Latino Arts & Culture - "NALAC was founded in 1989 in response to a need for a service organization for Latino arts and cultural organizations and artists. At that time mainstream arts service organizations did not specifically provide Latino arts and cultural organizations with services or advocate on their behalf. In addition, no entity convened the constituents in the Latino arts field, advocated for their inclusion in government and private support for the arts, or provided Latino organizations with technical assistance in program and organizational development. For this reason, a group of Latino artists, activists and administrators created a service organization to meet the needs in Latino communities across the country."

- Kentucky Craft Marketing Program - "The Craft Marketing Program's purpose is to develop the state's craft industry; support and empower Kentucky artisans and Craftspeople; create an economically viable environment for craft entrepreneurs, preserve the state's craft traditions, stimulate and support product development; and generate public awareness, public support, and public/private partnerships."
- Kentucky Arts Council - "The Kentucky Arts Council supports, through grants and technical assistance, Kentucky arts organizations, non-profit community organizations, local arts councils, local government agencies, individual artists and craftspersons. These organizations and individuals contribute significantly to the economy, education, and quality of life in Kentucky. - African-American
- BCALA Awards - The BCALA Literary Awards recognize outstanding works of Fiction and Nonfiction by African American authors for adult audiences. Sponsored by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, the award has been presented since 1994.
- The Coretta Scott King Award - The Black Caucus of the American Library Association Literary presents the Coretta Scott King Award which honors African American authors and illustrators for outstanding contributions to children's and young adult literature that promote understanding and appreciation of the culture and contribution of all people to the realization of the American Dream. This award has been presented since 1970.
- Springarn Medal - The NAACP awards the Spingarn Medal annually for outstanding achievement by a black American.

- The Audie Awards - The Audie Awards are sponsored by the Audio Publishers Association (APA), a not-for-profit trade organization consisting of over 200 member companies including publishers, retailers, distributors, and suppliers along with other industries related to the production, promotion, and sale of audiobooks.

- James Beard Foundation Awards - The James Beard Foundation Awards recognize culinary professionals for excellence and achievement in their field. The Awards were first presented by The James Beard Foundation in 1991.
- IACP Cookbook Awards - Formerly called the Julia Child Cookbook Awards, this award annually celebrates the year's most outstanding food and beverage publications. Sponsored by the International Association of Culinary Professionals. This award has been presented in various forms since 1971.
- Entertainment
- Grammy Awards Winner Searchable Index - A GRAMMY is awarded by the Recording Academy's voting membership to honor excellence in the recording arts and sciences. The first Grammy was awarded in 1958.
- Academy Awards Searchable Index - Search the Academy Awards nominations and winners. Oscars have been awarded since 1927.
- Emmy Awards Searchable Index - Emmys have been awarded by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences since 1949.
- General Awards
- Nobel Prize - The Nobel Website presents information about all Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, and Peace since 1901 and the Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel since 1969.
- Horror
- Bram Stoker Awards - The Horror Writers Association gives the Bram Stoker Awards for Superior Achievement annually. The winners are determined by vote of the Active members of HWA.
- Local
- Grawemeyer Awards - "H. Charles Grawemeyer, industrialist, entrepreneur, astute investor and philanthropist, created the lucrative Grawemeyer Awards at the University of Louisville in 1984. An initial endowment of $9 million from the Grawemeyer Foundation funded the awards, which have drawn nominations from around the world." The awards are for education, "improving world order", music composition, psychology and religion.
- Literary
- The Pulitzer Prizes - This site includes detailed information on the previous years winners, as well as an archive back to the first award in 1917.
- PEN/Faulkner Awards - Named for William Faulkner, who used his Nobel Prize funds to create an award for young writers, and affiliated with PEN (Poets, Playwrights, Editors, Essayists and Novelists), the international writers' organization, the PEN/Faulkner Award was founded by writers in 1980 to honor their peers, and is now the largest juried award for fiction in the United States.
- Costa Book Awards - "The Costa Book Awards were originally established in 1971 by Whitbread Plc. Costa, the UK's fastest-growing coffee shop chain, announced its takeover of the sponsorship of the UK's most prestigious book prize in 2006, the year both Costa and the Book Awards celebrated their 35th anniversary."
- National Book Awards - Awards are given to recognize achievements in four genres: Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, and Young People's Literature. The award has been given since 1950.
- Booksense Book of the Year Award - The American Booksellers Association awards (formerly the ABBY Award) are given each year to the "hidden treasures" in the adult and children's book categories that ABA bookstore members most enjoyed recommending to their customers during the previous year. The award has been awarded since 1991. The children's category was added in 1993.
- Booker Prize - The Booker McConnell Prize, commonly known as the Booker Prize, is awarded by the National Book League of the United Kingdom to the best novel written in English by a citizen of the nations of the current and former British Commonwealth. Booker McConnell, a multinational conglomerate company, established the prize in 1969.
- Mystery
- Agatha Awards - Malice Domestic presents the Agatha Awards are named for Agatha Christie and voted by the convention attendees. They are presented for the Best Novel, First Mystery Novel, Short Story, and Nonfiction work in the genre. They were first awarded in 1988.
- Edgar Awards - The Edgar Allan Poe awards (the "Edgars") are named after MWA's patron saint, Edgar Allan Poe, and are awarded to authors of distinguished work in various categories of the genre. Awarded by the Mystery Writers of America since 1956.

- Romance
- RITA Awards - The Romance Writers of America have awarded the RITA since 1982.
- Golden Heart Awards - The Romance Writers of America also award the Golden Heart Awards. They have been presented since 1983.
- Science Fiction & Fantasy
- Hugo Awards - Presented by the World Science Fiction Society since 1953.
- Nebula Award - These awards are voted on and presented by members of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. They have been presented since 1965.
- Phillip K. Dick Award - A panel vote for best original science fiction paperback. Sponsored by the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society, these have been presented since 1983.
- The Locus Index to Science Fiction Awards - This is a database of awards in science fiction, fantasy, and horror
- Western
- Spur Awards - The Western Writers of America. established the Spur Awards in 1953 for distinguished writing about the American west.
