What is the College Shop?
The College Shop at the Shawnee Library is a "one stop shop" for prospective college students of all ages -- from high school students to adults! It offers:
- Preparation materials for college admission tests like the ACT and SAT
- Print and web guides to scholarships and financial aid
- Workshops on financial aid, test preparation and how to choose the right college
- Access to computers for researching colleges and writing college-application essays
The college shop is a joint partnership of the Louisville Free Public Library, the University of Louisville Libraries, and the University of Louisville Office of Community Engagement. It also draws on the expertise of other community partners committed to increasing access to higher education for the Louisville community.
Why should you go to college?
College provides students with a better chance at success in today's fast-paced and changing global job market.
Many employers now require that employees have a college degree. College graduates make substantially higher average salaries than those with only a high-school diploma. And they are less likely to be unemployed.
