What the library means to me is more than people could really know. I know it sounds lame but I love the place. Soetimes I infuriate even my family just by how long it takes me to get as many books as I can.Now that I know ho to work out that whole tarc system, its so much more easy to go any time I want, and not only that, but simply going and just sittingdown with a good read is well worth the trip. Im never satisfied with just one book, and just one genre, or even just one section! Im even sad when it closes! I literaly have nothing else to do, lol, its crazy! I love it so!!lol

What the Library Means to Me

To me, the library is a place for people of all ages to come and relax
with one of the many books that the library has to offer in its large
catalog of novels which may not be available elsewhere. The library
offers a friendly environment for everyone to come in anytime they need to and check out a book or do research for projects or other things. And the librarians are friendly and helpful, which just help make the friendly, safe environment. Over the summer, the library hosts summer reading programs for different age groups, which is great for everyone because it encourages kids to read, even at a young age, and more importantly to read and keep educated over the summer when away from school. Ultimately, I am very thankful that the library has been there over the years to help me by offering a large catalog of books and encouraging me to read more and expand my interest in books. That is what the library means to me.

What the Library Means to me

The library is a place to escape the world and jump into to adventure, into drama, into excitement, and into fun. The library helps people discover who they are inside, from a daredevil willing to do everything to the extream to a more peaceful and solemn type of person. The library is a place that is unlike any other!

The TSR2 reading was very fun to do and it gave some things to do in the summer, so everybody can be successful.

Merlin101
For the reading program I read 8 books. One book was called Lost and Found by Andrew Clements. I enjoyed this book the most because it had a twist at the end that I didn't expect.

My summer this year was one of the best summers that i have ever had. I pretty much spent the whole summer here...at the library where I am currently typing this stuff up right now. I hope that i will be able to help out with the Summer Reading Program, next year, considering that i won't be able to particapite in it, due to my age.

What The Library Means To Me

The library is a peaceful, quiet, and calm place to relax. It is a place where you can read and check out books. You can find almost any book about anything at the library. I like going to the library because I can check out some cool books.

What the Library Means to Me

The library is a great place to relax and spend your day away reading. When chaos is happening at home, you can always go to the library to cool down. The library has just about every book out there, so you know you will find a great read. The place is free, so why are people waiting? Plus they have a comfortable setting.

What the Library means to me

The library to me is a greatly used asset. It is a place to find info for school assignments. In the summer it is a place to hopefully win prizes. It can also be a place to chill out and let time pass by reading a book or playing on the many computers. That is what the library means to me.

me
I like the summer reading progam. I think it is a great way to get kids excited about summer reading. It also could get kids to go to the library more often and check out books. I like to read a lot and this gave me more of a reason to read this summer.

Andy Creek
I like the summer reading program, it encourages kids to read over the summer.

Cricket
I read a lot anyways so I went ahead and took part in TSR this year. I really liked how TSR encouraged teens to get involved and help out. It was pretty fun and I hope to do it again next time.

the library is a place for me to study and find books for projects. if gives me a peaceful environment to complete task given with complete silence. it is a place for me to research anything for any project which makes it easier for me to do what needs to get done. I love the library!

hannah
I think that you should do the teen reading thing because you get good prizes that aren't just junk and you can win a laptop or an i-pod. it isn't realy that hard and there are alot of different things you can choose to do, so you can pick out the things that will be the most fun for you to do.

tucker s.
I really like the teen summer reading program because it helps kids remember what they learned in school.

Kierster

Jessie
I thought this program was great. It was easy to complete and kinda fun! I heard about it from a friend and she told me that if you just read 4 books and choose 5 Things To Do off of the list she showed me. So she showed me this and I thought, well, it seems easy enough! I should do it! So I did. I mean, I love to read, so why not get rewarded for doing it!

Tiss
The TSR program is easy and fun to do!

cameron

What the Library Means to Me

The library is a quiet, calm, peaceful place. It is a place that may seem quiet on the outside, but to bookworms like me, it is an adventurous place. It is a place where I can read a book and actually feel like I'm in it. It is a place full of emotions, full of adventure, full of happiness, sadness, empathy and every other emotion you can think of. It is a place where books come to life.

The library is also a great place to just relax. The quiet and peaceful environment is very calming. The programs that are offered at the library are also very interesting such as TSR2. The TSR program not only keeps us reading in the summer, but it also has good incentives. We get prizes to motivate us to keep reading and I think that this is pretty cool.

Basically, the library is just a special place that I enjoy!

xiao
for me,the library is a place whoever can read and study.

Hannah Gadd

Summer reading activities like these make me happy that people care that teens and children read during the summer and do something educational while fun and relaxing. Why waste a summer just sitting on your couch watching tv, when you can read and learn something from your fun adventures? Most of my friends have learned reading is valuable in a hard way. One summer, my friend decided that she wouldn't read any books, and would just sleep in and watch tv all summer. When everyone came back to school, she was the only one who didn't read and had trouble understanding the classes she took because she spent at least 3 months without learning anything educational at all. I feel that TSR is giving us a chance to actually prepare us for the upcoming school year, while allowing us to have fun and let our imagination grow and wander while turning the pages to a really good book.

Carmen Taylor
I love the library especially Shively-Newman. It's the best. Shoutout to Ms Crystal and Ms. Joyce @ the Shively-Newman library. They're the best.

What The Library Means To Me!

To me the library is a place were people of every age can go to take a load of. We can go there to read in an nice and quiet environment, and they let us borrow their books so that we don't have to go out and buy a book. They also allow us to use their computers to get on the internet, type , and much more. But the best thing about the library is that their services are free of charge! That is why I have been attending the library for the last 8 years. I love to read and they help me to do so. Because of the library I am able to read 10 times more books than if there were no libraries. Plus their books cover a wide variety of genres. They have everything from horror, thriller, and romance to mystery, historical, and informational. This is why I love the library. They are so helpful and also informational. We can come here to learn something we didn't quite know either by internet or by book, or we can come just to read and play games on the computer. I believe the library is very helpful to those people who don't have computers and to people who can't afford to buy all the books they want to read. This is why I love the library. So basically the library to me means free! Free book usage, computer use, and the library card is also free. SHOUTOUT TO MY HOME LIBRARY, THE SHIVELY-NEWMAN LIBRARY. And I also can't forget Ms. Crystal and Ms. Joyce, they've been here since I have and have helped me on my journey to become a distinguished reader. And if you both are reading this thank you and I have so much love for you both. May God bless you.

Snickers
I really like the teen program! It's not too easy or too hard! I'm glad that I also get to do other things for my five choices instead of reading more books. I will definetly do this program next year! :)

Amanda
The Library is very important to me because I seem to get bored during the summer and I like to read. So I like for my mom to take me up to the library to get some books to entertain me during the summer. They really help me and keep me busy instead of keeping me bored all summer. I love the libraries they help you learn, keep you educated and entertain me during the summer when I get bored.

Amanda
The reading program is so much fun and rewarding. You can defintley learn a lot from this program just by reading four books or as many as you want to!!

sarah
To me the library is a wonderful enviroment to get school work, reading done. Also a great place to relax and get on the computer. To me the libray is a place you can relax, get educated, and have a good time. You could do school stuff or just hang out.So to me the library is many things, but it depends what you use the library for. For example to hang out, to do homework, to get a book, to do something on the cumputer. So the library to me is educational, fun, and worth a use of your time.

Elizabeth Carr
The teen summer reading program is an excellent way for teens to keep up with reading over the summer! When teens get out of school they loose everything in their brains. The teen summer reading program will prevent that and keep our minds active!

micah egana

The Summer Reading program is a great way to stay busy this summer if you are bored. It is also a fantastic way to be inspired to read new books. If you are looking for a great book to read this summer I would suggest: Twilight, I'd tell you I'd love you but then I'd have to kill you, Indigo Blue, Scarlett, dizzy or the Harry Potter series.

Reading this year was definetly an adventure. With reading in general I get pretty bored but I managed to find some things to read that interested me.This summer reading is definetly different than what I am used to. We used to earn points and get prizes with certain amounts of points. I used to help run this program at my library which helped me read more. So, I wish this was like that too.
