Did you know that the Louisville Free Public Library has its own branch for teens? It is called the Teen Outpost and is located in the Midcity Mall, right next to the Highlands-Shelby Park Branch. The Outpost is like any other library. We have a collection of books and other materials, except our collection is geared for ages 12 through 19 and includes the largest Manga and graphic novel collection in the system. We have computers but ours have a "Teens First" policy. That means, if you come in and an adult is on the computer, we'll ask them to give it up if you need to use it. We are also a little more relaxed on the rules. You may have food and drink, but not near the computers. You can be a little louder than usual (there are limits) and we have all sorts of activities--planned and impromptu--going on at all times.
Most importantly, the Teen Outpost is a safe place where you can express yourself and utilize library resources.
Stop by today! Read a book, log onto a computer, play a game of cards, or just talk to some new friends. The Teen Outpost is the place to be this summer!
