Make Comics
The Make Lab will be travelling to several branches during Teen Read Week (October 16-22) to make digital comics. We will be using Comic Life software, digital cameras, and digital drawing pens. Comic Life software allows you to arrange your digital images (pictures or drawings) with pre-made or customizable layouts, apply filters, add speech bubbles and add text effects. If you create on paper we can use the scanner or cameras to digitize your drawings. If you are more interested in creating a story than art you can check out some free web based tools for creating comics using pre-drawn characters, props, and backgrounds.

Email techconnects@lfpl.org if you have questions about the Make Lab or the Make Comics program.

So what is the Make Lab?

It is a collection of gadgets used for making digital creations. The gadgets are laptops, IPads, digital drawing pens, digital still & video cameras, digital sound recorders, wireless microphones, a scanner, and a green screen. The laptops are equipped Photoshop Elements, Corel Painter Essentials, Comic Life and open source software for video conversion, image manipulation, video editing, and video game creation. Check the library’s online events calendar for Make Lab programs. Look for “Make” somewhere in the title.

Email techconnects@lfpl.org if you have questions about the Make Lab.
