History
The original Middletown Branch opened in Eastern High School in 1962 and was one of four Louisville Free Public Library Libraries located in Jefferson County Public Schools. The location closed in 1980, before reopening on April 29, 1985, in a shared building with offices of the City of Middletown.
The Library outgrew this location and moved to the East Government Center in February of 1989. It remained there until it closed on November 30, 2019.
