Curbside Pickup & Delivery

Curbside Pickup & Delivery

The Louisville Free Public Library is now offering limited curbside pick-up of library materials at select locations.

Patrons who currently have items on hold must call (502) 574-1611 to schedule a pick-up time. We have begun to fill new requests, but because of reduced staffing levels due to the economic impact of COVID-19, there may be delays in fulfilling your requests. For quicker service, select books already housed at your preferred Library branch since moving books between locations will result in a delay in service.

How do I use curbside pickup?
  1. If you already have items on reserve, please call 502-574-1611 to schedule a pick up day and time.
  2. Come to the library during your scheduled time and park in one of the numbered spots.
  3. Call the phone number on the sign and provide your name and library card number.
  4. Remain in your car with the windows up. Staff will bring your materials out and place them in your trunk.
  5. You can return materials in the book drop during open hours. All items will be quarantined for 3 days before being processed.
Do I need a car to get service?

You do not need a car to pick up materials. You will need to get to the Library site and follow the same procedures as someone in a car. But rather than placing your items in a car, staff will place your materials on a table for pickup.

What safety precautions are you taking?

In compliance with the state’s Healthy at Work guidelines, Library staff will wear masks, maintain social distance, regularly wash hands and sanitize workstations, and undergo a temperature check upon reporting to work. Curbside will be a no-contact delivery process, with all materials placed directly in your trunk in new plastic bags. Returned items are quarantined for 72 hours before being re-shelved or released for reserves.

Are you taking book donations?

Unfortunately, we are not accepting book donations at this time.
