Literacy Connection Backpacks

Reading, Learning, Fun!

Parents, guardians and caregivers can use a library card to check out backpacks full of books, creative play items, and adult resources to help children develop the habit of reading. This is a great way to help young children succeed in school and in life.

The Literacy Connection Backpacks were developed through a collaboration between the Louisville Free Public Library and Community Coordinated Child Care with a focus on early literacy development in children birth through five years of age. The backpacks are available for all patrons to use. Backpacks designated “For Childcare Providers,” allow childcare staff to receive five training credit hours from Community Coordinated Child Care. For more information about the backpacks, call the library at 574-1620.
