In the fourth year of this event series, the Louisville Free Public Library, in partnership with Kentucky Refugee Ministries, will celebrate the Haitian American community.
The Cuisine of Haiti

Learn about Haitian cooking traditions and discover how to make a staple Haitian dish with a chef from the Caribbean Café . There will be a vegetarian friendly option. This event is free but space is limited. Registration is recommended.
The History of Haiti
Saturday, August 29, 2 – 3:30 p.m. • Bon Air Library
Dr. Crystal Felima, Assistant Professor of Anthropology and African American & Africana Studies at the University of Kentucky, will discuss the complex history of the first Black Republic and the second independent country in the Western Hemisphere. This event is free but space is limited. Registration is recommended.
