2025 Craft Supplies Swap Acceptance Policy

Members of the community are invited to participate in a craft supplies swap at the South Central Regional Library. Item donations must be submitted prior to the swap event for review by library staff. All items must be in new or good condition, clean, and without any odors. 

Library staff have the right to refuse items that are damaged or not in good working condition. Any items left at the end of the swap will be used by the library, donated, or discarded. Depending on the volume of items donated, swappers may take up to 20 items from the swap. Please be kind and share with other swappers.  

Items Accepted (All items must be in new or good condition, clean, and without any odors. Library staff have the right to refuse items that are damaged or not in good working condition.):

 

  • Unopened and unused paints or paint pens
  • Unopened and unused glues or glue sticks
  • Unopened and unused candle scents
  • Unopened and unused soy or beeswax melts
  • Unopened and unused calligraphy pens or markers
  • Unopened and unused ink/stamp pads
  • Unopened and unused paper clays and oven bake clays
  • Unused wreath forms
  • Unused paintbrushes
  • Beads
  • Cardstock paper
  • Craft books and magazines (must have been published after the year 2000)
  • Crochet hooks
  • Fabric (must be clean and without odor)
  • Felting needles and blocks
  • Felt sheets
  • Googly eyes
  • Knitting needles
  • Manual paper cutters and hole punches
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Pom poms
  • Pom pom makers
  • Quilting rulers
  • Quilling tools
  • Ribbons
  • Rubber stamps
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Scrapbook albums (unused)
  • Sewing needles
  • Sewing notions
  • Sewing patterns
  • Scissors (any kind: fabric or paper)
  • Stickers
  • Thin plywood (not to exceed ¼”)
  • Transfer tape
  • Vinyl (sticker or iron-on sheets)
  • Washi tapes

Not Accepted:

  • Any items valued at $100 or above
  • Balloons, Party hats, or décor
  • Craft books and magazines published before the year 2000
  • Displays of any kind
  • Hangers
  • Large equipment including but not limited to: color printers, sewing machines, cutting machines, 3D printers, etc.
  • Magazines that aren’t about crafts
  • Makeup
  • Opened and used containers of liquid items like paints, glues, etc.
  • Paraffin wax
  • Plywood thicker than ¼”
  • Recyclable containers like plastic bottles, cardboard boxes, empty yogurt jars, cookie tins, etc.
  • Soap or hand-sanitizer
  • Storage bins of any kind
  • Wrapping paper
  • 3D printer filament
