Read It Down

People reading books

Don’t let fees keep you away from the Library!

Children and teens can reduce library fees incurred by lost or damaged library materials by reading or listening to books of their choosing in a specified area of the Library. The more you read, the more you earn!

5th grade and under
15 mins = $2.00

6th grade -12th grade
30 mins = $2.00

In addition to participating in the Read it Down program, children and teens can get an additional $3.00 waived for every age appropriate program they attend. Visit lfpl.org/events, contact your local branch, or call (502) 574-1620 for more information on eligible programs.

LFPL does not charge fees for overdue materials. The credits earned are only applied toward fees charged for replacement of lost or damaged library materials.

Read It Down is for children’s and teen library cards only. Juvenile materials checked out on an adult’s card do not qualify. Books checked out for adults on a child or teen’s library card also do not qualify for Read it Down. Reading must occur in the Library.
