Calling All Teens!

Come to the Main Library for a celebration of anime, manga, Asian pop culture, and cosplay! 

Creative Cosplay author Jedimanda in person! * Cosplay Contest with Prizes *  Mythos Tattoos * Noodle Eating Contest * Silent Disco * Karaoke * Chopped: Ramen Edition * Chinese Lion & Fan Dance * Candy Sushi * Block Printing * Fandom Crafts * Japanese folklore * Friday Morning Anime Breakfast * All Free! 

Bobabun Food Truck onsite (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.) - the first 100 check-ins will receive a FREE 16oz drink. Food and other drinks available for purchase.

10 a.m - 3 p.m. Check-in South Lobby

Register for special events and contests, pick up your AnimeCon 20 badge, raffle ticket and snacks, and see Jedimanda costumes on display. First 100 check-ins receive a ticket for a FREE 16 oz. drink from Bobabun. 

Plus, a Con Mom will be available for emergency costume supplies too! 

10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Pokémon Scavenger Hunt Various stations around the Library Correctly guess the Pokémon at each of our AnimeCon stations and get a pin!
10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Friday Morning Anime Breakfast  Centennial Room Come have breakfast and watch anime. 
10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Get Ready With Me! Teen Underground Get ready for the day and pamper yourself with self-care essentials. 
12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Karaoke Centennial Room You are the star! Pick out a song and sing!
12 p.m. - 1 p.m. Japanese Folklore & Horror  CLC Learn more about Japanese folklore and horror tales and their connection to some of your favorite anime. 
12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Silent Disco Party Community Room Come get your silent groove on with your friends.
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Asian Culture Show & Tell  South Lobby Librarian Katherine Skaggs shows off her collection of fun artifacts and souvenirs from Asia. Ask her anything!   
12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Mythos Tattoos Auditorium Meet the artists from Mythos Tattoos and see their portfolio of anime-inspired work, and get your (temporary) tattoo. 
12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Craft It  South Basement Make block prints, Shonen Jump collages, and diamond gem paintings.
12 p.m. - 12:15 p.m. Chinese Lion Dance Auditorium See Chinese Lion Dance live from Oreya Dance. Lion dance is performed at festivals to bring good fortune, good luck, prosperity, and to chase away evil spirits.
12:30 p.m. - 1 p.m. Chopped: Ramen edition Teen Underground Can your team turn mystery ingredients into a yummy bowl of Ramen? Teams of at least two (2) must sign up at the registration table to compete. Everyone else can watch and judge the Ramen creations!
12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. Candy Sushi Auditorium Make sushi look-alikes from Rice Krispies, gummy worms, and other candies. 
1:00 p.m. 🍜 Noodle Eating Contest Teen Underground Who will be crowned champion this year?
1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Chinese Fan Dancers Auditorium Participate in Chinese Fan Dance with Oreya Dance. 
1:30 p.m. Chopped: Ramen edition Teen Underground Can your team turn mystery ingredients into a yummy bowl of Ramen? Teams of at least two (2) must sign up at the registration table to compete. Everyone else can watch and judge the Ramen creations!
2 p.m. Meet Jedimanda!  Auditorium Professional seamstress, author, and avid costume maker Jedimanda has competed, and ultimately won, several costume competitions, as well as judged almost an equal amount. She will tell us about her career in cosplay and SFX makeup and answer your questions! 
3 p.m. Cosplay Contest & Chinese Lion Dance Auditorium Our top 3 winners and the crowd favorite will receive prizes.
