*WORKSHOP FULL* Animation Origins: Flipbooks, Thaumatropes and Cycles
About this event
Body
What is animation, how did it develop and how can you get in on the action? In this workshop with COLLIDER Artist-in-Residence John Akre we will learn about these things and then make three simple forms of animation on paper. We will look at the early days of animation, the experiments and techniques that the first animators used to make their drawings come to life, and then create some thaumatropes (two images that turn into one), flipbooks, and cycles (a short repeated animation). Then, we will have a show of all the projects created during the workshop. We will have all the supplies you will need to make your animations. All ages welcome. Limited spots available--register via email to liz.magee@lfpl.org. *WORKSHOP FULL*
