Upcycled Animals: Transforming Trash into Treasured Art
About this event
Join COLLIDER Artist-in-Residence Nancy DeSanctis for this Upcycled Animals art workshop. Amidst a world of disposable things, there's untapped potential waiting to be discovered. Join us in this transformative workshop where we breathe new life into seemingly mundane materials. We will explore the art of repurposing by turning cereal box cardboard into animal shapes. Using hot glue, we'll add texture and dimension, adorning the animals with repurposed items (i.e.- plastic bottle caps, buttons, shells, beads, etc). To complete the process, we’ll embellish the relief sculptures using a combination of spray paint and/or paint to add color and detail that make your animal come to life. For adults and ages 8-17. Space is limited, email liz.magee@lfpl.org to register.
