Portland Library Maker Space

Maker 101 Online Orientation

Adults and teens ages 13+ are welcome to make an appointment to use the space after completing the Maker Pavilion 101
orientation. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult who has completed MP101. Maker Pavilion programs
are designed to accommodate all skill and experience levels.

The Portland Pod includes:

  • Cricut Maker 4, Brother PE 900 Embroidery Machine, Babylock Joy Sewing Machines, Xtool M1 Ultra Laser cutter, Media Lab, AccuQuilt Fabric Cutter, XTool heat press, button machines, and more!

Reservation Policies

  1. The Pod Makerspace and Media Lab are available by reservation only.
  2. Requests must be submitted no less than 3 days in advance, and no more than 21 days in advance. Limit: 2 reservations per day, 4 per week, per patron.
  3. A reservation request is not a guarantee. Staff will contact you to confirm your reservation.
  4. A reservation reserves one workstation in the Pod or Media Lab for up to two hours.
  5. Once a reservation request has been submitted, Pod staff will reach out with information regarding supply use and availability,
  6. You may submit up to two active requests. After those are scheduled, wait until one is complete before requesting another.
  7. Arrive within 15 minutes of your start time or the slot will be offered to others.
  8. The Pod is open to those 13 and over who have completed Maker 101. Users 18 and under must also have a signed guardian waiver on file. Anyone under 13 must be supervised by an adult who has completed Maker 101 Orientation.
  9. The Portland Pod is not available as a meeting space.
  10. Food, drink, and beverages are prohibited in the Portland Pod with the exception of water in a closed container.
