Adult Digital Art Studio: Georges Méliès: Lessons from a Magician of Early Cinema
About this event
Body
Georges Méliès ran a live magic theater in Paris, in 1895, when he saw one of the first projected motion picture showings in history. So, not surprisingly, illusions and spectacle became central to his vision when he began making films. And it made him a pioneering master in visual effects. We’ll look at his approach, techniques, & innovations. And using contemporary digital tools, we’ll demonstrate how aspects of his approach are still in use, today.
