Author Visit & Discussion – Ascension: Portrait of a Woman

During World War II, nurses from across America came to Bowman Field to train to fly on C-47s to battlefields around the globe, treating gravely wounded soldiers and transporting them to hospitals. Ascension tells the story of two such nurses and the sense of duty that compels them to commit to sacrifice and service, binding them to their country and each other.
