Community Concert Series: Jane's Jazz Addiction "What is Gypsy Jazz?"

The history and evolution of this particular genre of swing jazz, including an explanation of the beginnings of the style in pre-World War II Paris through the collaboration between Belgian gypsy guitarist Django Rhinehardt and the self-taught Italian violinist Stephane Grappelli, and how Gypsy and European idioms coalesce with American jazz.
