Garden Stepping Stone: Crafting Nature's Path

Join COLLIDER Artist-in-Residence Nancy DeSanctis for this Stepping Stone workshop. Sometimes the best kind of art is a combination of form and function. In this workshop, you’ll learn to design and craft custom concrete stepping stones that will liven up any outdoor space. You will learn the intricacies of mixing concrete and pigments to create vibrant hues, which you will cast in a round form. Then, you’ll embed natural and found objects into the surface to create both patterns and texture, which when combined with the colored concrete, will bring the stone to life. You are more than welcome to bring your own objects to embed into the stone if you wish. By doing so, you can incorporate your own personal touches into your functional art.
