Ripple Effects Student Photo Contest

Ripple Effects student photo contest

We are proud to sponsor the Ripple Effects student photo contest, encouraging young people – K-12 – in our community to capture images of what water means to them. From rivers to raindrops, puddles to ponds -- what is most beautiful about water in our community and what water-related problems do we need to address? Cash prizes will be awarded in four age groups. Photo submissions are due by June 10. To learn more, visit www.LFPL.org/PhotoContest.

Read It Down Program

"Read It Down" Program

Are overdue fines keeping you from visiting the Library? The Library's Read It Down program allows children and teens to reduce library fines just by reading. You can Read It Down from your home! Participants read or listen to books of their choosing. The more you read, the less you owe.

  • Preschool – 5th grade: every 15 minutes equals $2.00 off your overdue fines.
  • 6th – 12th grade: every 30 minutes equals $2.00 off your overdue fines.

Log the time you spend reading and then call 574-1611 and report the amount of time spent reading. It's that simple!

Have questions about the Read it Down program? Call (502) 574-1611.
